Service Description
The word "assessment" can take on many meanings in higher education. At Benjamin Higher Education Consulting, we can work with you in: (1) Developing effective assessments to adequately measure student learning (i.e., direct assessments); (2) Standardizing testing used by institutions or professions as part of external accountability; (3) Designing activities to collect information on the success of a program, course, or curriculum (i.e., indirect assessment); and (4) Mapping assessments to competencies, aligned with institutional accreditors' expectations. Our philosophy on assessment emphasizes a cycle of continuous review, improvement, and closing the loop to show that assessments were used to drive policy or practice changes. Our goal is to provide the client with an environment that is receptive, supportive, and enabling of the changes necessary to promote improvement of future outcomes. We are committed to providing you with an ongoing process of assessment that is transparent and inclusive of all stakeholders, including students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and the public, as appropriate.
